The Shining
"It’s scary what happened in Burnley with the BNP getting onto the council. We’re only here for a short time and you have to stand up for what you believe. If as a band we can help raise awareness of what’s going on, then we will."
Namechecking the Stone Roses, Led Zeppelin and Verve as influences, The Shining are the latest in a long line of Brit-rockers.
Featuring ex-Verve band members Simon Jones on bass and Simon Tong on guitar and keyboards, the band released their first album “True Skies” earlier this year. NME described their sound as "Granite anthem tunesmithery and heavy northern soul.”
The Shining played at the Love Music Hate Racism carnival in September.
