STOP FRENCH FASCIST LE PEN!
April 24, 2004, 03:00 PM
Jean Marie Le Pen, the leader of France's main fascist party the Front National has been invited to speak in Britain by Nick Griffin, the leader of the BNP. Le Pen described Hitler's Nazis' genocide of the jews and others in the Holocaust as "a mere detail of history". He is planning to appear in Manchester and Birmingham. Unite Against Fascism has called protests in both cities after the Home Secretary's decision to allow Le Pen to enter the country. If you want to help stop Le Pen swanning around in the UK like a visiting dignitary rather than the Nazi criminal he is please visit the Unite website for details, including about a coach running from London to the Birmingham protest.

MANCHESTER FESTIVAL AGAINST THE NAZIS 25 APR-2 MAY
April 14, 2004, 03:04 PM
LMHR and Unite Against Fascism activists in Manchester have put together a great line-up of music events designed to get people involved in the local campaign to stop the BNP in June's elections.
Manchester’s multi-cultural best are coming together in late April to unite the city against racism and stop the rise of the fascist BNP.
The music and cultural sub-group of Manchester Against Racism / Unite against Fascism (MAR) has organised a week-long festival of events at venues across Manchester culminating in a performance by all-star urban artists on an open-air stage as the centre-piece of the Futuresonic04 festival.
The festival will cater for a wide range of tastes, with events ranging from a Blood & Fire reggae soundclash to an evening of Love Poetry Hate Racism at Stockport’s Blue Cat Café.
The aims of the festival are to promote the anti-racist cause and to mobilise people in the North West to use their vote in the local and European elections on the 10th June this year. A high voter turnout is critical in stopping the BNP from making electoral inroads in Manchester and the North West. Together we can defeat the BNP’s message of division and hatred.
