BLACKBURN LMHR CARNIVAL
Sun, April 27, 2003, Past
[CARNIVAL NOW POSTPONED TIL LATER THIS SUMMER! OTHER EVENTS HAPPENING IN BURNLEY & BLACKBURN INSTEAD!]
12 midday-7pm, Sunday 27 April 2003 ... featuring BASEMENT JAXX & TIM WESTWOOD
Once again, Burnley Borough Council have disgracefully refused an Entertainment Licence for a Love Music Hate Racism in the town. We have instead applied to BLACKBURN-with-Darwen Council to hold the Carnival in that town - 10 miles down the road from Burnley and with it's own Nazi councillor, wife-beater Robin Evans. Blackburn's council have been far more positive and cooperative about the event than their neighbours and we're very optimistic that the positive anti-racist music Carnival that East Lancashire needs will now go ahead in Blackburn's Witton Park instead.
Click below for details, and keep checking back as we add to this great bill.
A totally brilliant day in Manchester on September 1st last year, headlined by Ms Dynamite, drew a completely peaceful 30,000+ crowd, showed how wrong Burnley Council are to ban a Carnival from the town.

April 27th is just four days before May's local elections - when two of the Nazi BNP's Burnley councillors are up for re-election. We want to have a massive peaceful and positive day of music in the town that day to send out a loud message to the Nazis - you're not wanted here! Watch this space for more info when we have it, or email us at lmhr@postmark.net to help out and get involved in organising and publicising this event.
THE LINE-UP AND DETAILS:-
All roads lead to Blackburn on Sunday 27 April 2003! Make sure you come along on the day or why not get involved in helping to organise the carnival beforehand or on the day itself? ...
