Where we stand
Our music is a living testament to the fact that cultures can and do mix. Music unites us
and gives us strength, while racism seeks only to divide and weaken us. Whether it’s soul,
indie, garage, rock, jungle, house, hip-hop or bhangra, music brings us together and offers
a vibrant celebration of our multicultural and multiracial society.
All of this is under attack from the Nazi poison of the British National Party, National
Front and Combat 18. The Nazis want to burn our records, close our clubs and ban our festivals
and raves. Nick Griffin, führer of the BNP, says his "ultimate aim is an all-white society".
His racism threatens everything we fight for, everything that’s positive in our lives.
The Anti Nazi League’s Love Music Hate Racism campaign is built on the conviction that
our music can be a powerful political weapon to fight back against the Nazis and their
murderous ideology of race hatred.
The Rock Against Racism gigs of the 1970s demonstrated that music
could beat back the National Front. Love Music Hate Racism will build on that tradition by
generating a positive mass movement to drive today’s Nazis out of the mainstream and into oblivion.
We are now organising anti-Nazi gigs, raves and club nights up and down the country. Wherever
the Nazis try to divide us, we’ll be there - black and white united - to fight back against their
lies and hatred.
